After considerable search a place was found which met the fengshui requirements. Three years pa ed before the building was a finished, "good-looking"woman recruited and suitable business arrangements inclusived. After the death of the Governor the original building became a business centre attracting merchants thorughout China. Over the years various prominent privateities stayed here, which includes the Dalai Lama. Today Sam's visitorhouse offers an island of tranquility in a town that is undergoing constant development.
