Limerick Limerick Darragh Cottages are a group of four strikingly restored stone cottages on the Cork-Limerick border in the middle of southern Ireland. located in their own Victorian stone walled grounds, the cottages are an perfect escape from everyday life. Built of stone some two hundred years ago they have newly been carefully restored to a very high standard. These four cottages are situated in a large walled grounds, in the grounds of the owner’s Georgian house. Interiors are strikingly furnished and have exposed timber beams and floors, treated with organically welcoming waxes. This has enhanced the old world character of the cottages. The cottages are self-catering and are hireed per week, each cottage sleeping four adults. Each cottage has two bed rooms upstairs, one double room (King size ) and one twin room. The double room has a wash basin, vanity unit and wardrobes. The twin room contains a dre ing table. There is as well a cot offered to accommodate an additional banear. The ground floor has a lounge/dining vicinity with Television, a three piece suite, table and four chairs, pine dre er, Refrigerator, electric cooker and all nece ary utensils; micro wave , toaster, coffee pot, kettle, crockery, etc. The bathroom contains both bath and shower with a shaving point, toilet / wc and wash basin. The entrance hall has an automatic washing machine situated under the stairs.Bed linen and towels are included; metered electritown paid for on departure. The thermal insulation of the cottages is to up to date standards with double glazed windows and draft protection. The electric heating and hot water systems are thermostatically controlled for economy. All rooms have heaters, two of which are storage heaters. All this makes for a very relaxing cottage. Outside there is plenty of secure parking, a large lawn with barbecue, grounds furniture and an vicinity for drying clothes The cottages are perfectly situated for day trips to the Lakes of Killarney, Cliffs of Moher, Waterford Crystal, Bunratty Folk Park, Blarney Castle and the Rock of Cashel. Locally the scenic countryside provides many interesting towns and things to do such as golf , rambling, fishing and horse riding. The town of Cork is actually just 50 few minutes away and this year Cork is heading up the European Year of Culture with plenty of events planned!!!! see www.cork2005.ie |
