This historical site overlooks africa unity square and the splendid Jacaranda trees. The hotel was built in 1915 and is still owned near the same family. Originally Meikles was a delightful colonial styled building with large verandahs and cupolas. The hotel has been rebuilt and altered on several occasions and today consists of two distinct wings-the north wing and the south wing these two accomodation wings are joined together on the ground and first floors near respective lobbies and a roof top garden. The hotels restaurants/lounges/bars and banquet rooms are as well encorporated on the ground-first and second floors. The swimming pool deck is located on the top floor of the south wing. All the north facing suites and bed rooms have striking views over Africa unity square-the grounds and the citys flower market.
