Visit Britain has awarded The Buckingham Lodge a 4 Diamond (Guest Accommodation) grading. The Buckingham Lodge is probably one of the best situated small family run hotels in Torquay. It s conveniently situated in a calm tree lined road, close (walking distance) to the beach / sea at Torre Abbey Sands, Railway Station, Torre Abbey (with its Agatha Christie Room), Conference & Leisure center and shops. as well within walking distance are the Princess Theatre, Harbour and main shopping center of Torquay. This little hotel is run on visitor House principles near the resident owners who aim to provide a 'home from home'. The quality, value for cash B&B provided is often at prices below that charged near similar & lower graded accommodation -so why go elsewhere For the comfort and safety of all patrons the Buckingham Lodge operates a strict NO SMOKING policy throughout the building. All rooms are en suite and many have BOTH BATH & SHOWER which is a feature not usually obtainable in this grade of accommodation. Prices are on a B&B basis. A licensed bar lounge is offered for residents only. There are no amenities for children under age 5 or for babies. IMPORTANT NOTE - Off Site things to do are not owned or managed near the Hotel. The Buckingham Lodge has no control over the terms and conditions of use or the opening times and availability of the facilities. A local charge is payable to the operator for the use of most of the off site facilities. perfectly placed for all Torquay highlights and the whole of the Torbay area, the Buckingham Lodge's position is handy for visitors to travel to other parts of South Devon. The splendour of Dartmoor is only a short drive away. 1)Pricing is based on a minimum stay of 2 nights - stays of 1 night are not accepted. 2)Please note that as there is no night porter facility the latest evening check in time is 10. 3)Check Out time is 10. on the day of departure; 4)Single sex groups are not accepted without prior agreement (telephone for details); 5)Babies & children under the age of 5 are not accepted; child prices only apply to children up to age 12 sharing a room with 2 full paying guests; reductions may be offered for young adults depending on season (telephone for details); 6)The lead party making the reservation will be liable for the cost of any damage repair or additional cleaning required due to a client's actions which may be charged to the debit or credit card provided as surety for the booking at the time of booking; 7)Buckingham Lodge is a 100% no smoking hotel; SMOKING is NOT ALLOWED in any part of the building. Regrettably patrons will be requested to leave if they smoke within the building. In these circumstances no refund of monies paid will be made. In addition a surcharge of GBP50.00 will become payable towards the cost of additional cleaning required to bring the room back to the standard expected near subsequent guests. This will be charged to the debit / credit provided as surety for the booking at the time of booking. 8) For payment made near credit card a surcharge of 2% ( American Express 4.5% ) will be added to client's bills (there is no surcharge for payment made near debit card); 9) A non-refundable deposit of 20% of the total holiday cost or the cost of the first night's stay (whichever is greater) is required at the time of making the booking. This will be charged to the debit or credit card provided as surety for the booking at the time of booking. Where the reservation is in respect of 2 or more rooms under the same reservation reference the deposit will be allocated between the rooms in proportion to the cost of each room and, in the event of cancellation or amendment of the reservation or part of the reservation is not transferable between rooms. 10) For reservations cancelled within 7 days of arrival, in addition to loss of deposit, a cancellation fee equivalent to the cost of 1 nights stay (average cost) will be charged to the debit or credit card provided as surety for the booking at the time of making the booking; 11) For reservations cancelled on day of arrival, late arrival, no show or early departure, in addition to loss of deposit, a cancellation fee equivalent to the balance payable for the accommodation booked will be charged to the debit or credit card provided as surety for the booking at the time of making the booking; 12) Every effort will be made to re-let accommodation cancelled. If re-letting is achieved the cancellation charge will be reduced near the amount received from the re-let; 13)Please note that any balance due is payable on arrival (not on checkout).
