Originally a traditional French barn built over three hundred years ago... it has now been tastefully restored and converted. located in a quiet hamlet surrounded near fields and lakes, it boasts a large well kept grounds with its own swimming pool making it an perfect place for unwinding and gettng away from it all you can simply sit out and enjoy the ambience of the superb French countryside. The immediate nearby countryside consists of open fields and within a short walking distance there are striking lakes which harbour an abundance of wildlife. Geographical situation: located in the West of France, the hamlet of La Gilardie issituated in the commune of Le Lindois, close to the village of Rou ines which has a little shop, post office and an fantastic bar/restaurant which is open both lunchtimes and evenings. The nearbyest town is Montbron. The village which is within close proximity, as well hosts a large public swimming pool for which there is no charge. Property description: Maison des Amis has been sympathically decorated in keeping with its original character, each room has the orginal beams with many of the orginal stone walls inside the house adding to its character. There is large snug living room for visitors to unwind in, a seperate dining vicinity for breakfast. With a choice of three bed rooms offered, one double with an en-suite, a large bedroom room which can sleep up to four, and another double room; both these rooms have use of a very large bathroom with separate bath and shower. Each room is equiped with complimentary tea and coffee making amenities. Sporting things to do: Within a 10-15 minute commuting distance there are a huge selection of things to do to suit all age ranges and tastes golf, tennis, riding, fishing,water sports which includes sailing and canoeing, man-made beach / sea, lakes, rambling, walks and cycling and for the wintersport lovers there are numerous ski runs. Other highlights around: Montbron holds a traditional French marketplace every Tuesday, as do each of the nearby towns days may vary. Within Montbron itself there are a host of bars and a selection of restaurants which will suit all tastes. The vicinity local to the Maison des Amis boasts a wide selection of chateaux, manor houses, vineyards most of which are open to the public. Eating out within the vicinity is exciting and well worth experiencing, especially restaurants in the nearbynear village offer a true tatse of rural France.
