Somewhere relaxing, clean, with style and ambience? Oaklands Lodge may be exactly what you are looking for. We are a little owner-operated hostel in a quiet, (no through traffic), tree lined street on the slopes of Mt. Eden providing inexpensive accommodation for independent travelers. You will find us great value for your cash as well as having a great time. Oaklands Lodge is consistently rated one of Auckland's top backpacker hostels (BBH survey) and is proud to have been recognised near Let's Go (the world's best selling travel guide) and being able to display Let's Go Recommends 2000, 2001 & 2003 'for being one of the very best... as one of a little number of establishments to receive this commendation.' Lonely Planet 2002 states "Oaklands is another laid back place setting a high standard" The Lodge is a large two storied house built in the late Victorian era. It has has been newly renewed and includes a large kitchen, separate dining room/games room, Television lounge as well as a grounds Barbeque vicinity. In our games room you can play games or music or just chat. If you just want to unwind, we have a reading room, you can watch Television or sit out in the grounds. You'll never be far from friends and family with STD telephones, a fax service and the web access offered for sending and receiving Email. Our office is open from 8.30am -1.00pm and 4.00pm to 8.30pm. We may be able to accommodate arrivals outside these times if you let us know when you making the reservation. Our normal check in time is 12.00 noon but if you are arriving earlier than that we will do our best to have your room ready as quickly as po ible. So don't mi out when you travel to Auckland.
