If you're looking for a great place to stay in Riga, with welcoming English speaking staff and all in a clean and safe surroundings, then the Old town hostel and Backpackers pub is the one for you. We're strategically situated right in the middle of the town - whether you want to go attractionseeing medieval buildings or discover the vibrant clubbing scene of the town... situated in a historic Hanzeatic old town, a mere 7 few minutes stroll from the bus/rail stations. A 24 hour reception (no curfew!) and all fresh linen/ bedding is provided. A place for today's traveller to meet other backpackers or locals. The hostel has been purpose-built into a renewed 5-storey historical building and has 42 beds, 36 beds are offered in mixed dorms with shared amenities, and there is a 6-bed room with an en suite bathroom (which could be used as a triple or double on demand). Two floors of the 5-storey building (almost half of the premises!) are dedicated to easy, welcoming interaction with a bar at street level and a fully-equipped self-catering kitchen in the basement. We as well offer tea and coffee, web access acce and in the evenings we watch DVD films free of charge. A sauna is offered for a little additional charge. Instead of being an “overnight factory” we tried to design a place for travelers to meet, discu previous travels and plan new ones. Whilst amenities are exemplary, the philosophy of Riga Old town Hostel is one of service and ambience. Deals have already been set with local taxis to provide off-card fares for visitors; in-house tour services will offer sightseeing tours at below local agency rates; and an inter-Baltic bus service will ferry visitors between Estonia, LaTelevisionia and Lithuania. “We know that life-long friends, marriages, great books and incredible adventures have been born in the unwinded ambience of good hostels”, explains ROTH Manager George Siriunas; and hopes “ that Riga Old town Hostel will be the father of many to come; redefining the LaTelevisionian experience for budget travelers.”
