Prices From $11.09, £6.27, €9.10 Accommodation Type: HOSTEL Sea Gypsy Village Backpackers Sea Gypsy Backpackers Pulau Sibu Sibu Island Thirteen years ago when I first set foot on Pulau Sibu, Johor, there was a superb backpacker's place at the end of our beach / sea. It was full from Chinese New Year to Deepavali and we loved the travelers it attracted. I have built six A frames, virtually on the beach / sea, on the other side of the Dive Base, Bar & Restaurant and from the Sea Gypsy chalets. We wanted to bring the backpackers back to Sibu. visitors will sleep in an 'A frame' - an absolutely lovely Malay building. Ours are constructed from wood & atap (roofing made from palm fronds). The floor throughout is green cement, which keeps the place pleasant and cool. visitors can enjoy their own little sea facing veranda with two seats. The en suite bathroom has glo white cement walls for light, plus easy care, hand shower, hand basin, mirror, foot tap, toilet / wc with overhead light. The tap water is drinkable (our own scrumptious well water). Each bedroom has an oscillating wall fan, overhead light and shelving. Sea Gypsy's menu provides a selection of scrumptious dishes at very realistic rates. We offer plenty of choice for vegetarians and vegans. Our kitchen is open from 8 a.m. till 10 p.m. Dan's Dive, our bar, is open from 10 a.m. till whenever everyone has finished drinking (hence it's reputation as the bar that never closes'). Dan's Nasty Frogmen offers daily 'Try Scubas', Open Water Dive Courses, boat diving, snorkelling sightseeing tours and lots of fun sail and surf equipment for hireal.
