Trek Africa offers backpacker accommodation on the edge of the magnificent Van Stadens River Gorge. The house can comfortably accommodate 24 visitors inside, and there are 4 double wooden huts for couples. The backpackers has four dorm rooms, which can comfortably accommodate 6 people per room on bunk beds. There are 2 bathrooms (1 shower, 1 bath) with hot water offered 24/7. There is a large kitchen where visitors can cook their own meals if they wish either on gas or the 4 plate stove with a convection oven. Pots, pans and crockery is supplied. Our kitchen has a farm style wooden floor and breakfast table seating 10. Breakfast can as well be enjoyed al fresco on the tiled front stoep (patio). visitors have storage space in the Refrigerators and cupboards provided. The large lounge and veranda looking out on to the "Lady Slipper" Mountain Range offer the ideal place for visitors to chill out and either watch Television, Videos, DVDs or listen to music and read a book. The Outpost is the Trekafrica Bar and entertainment vicinity 100m from the house. The bar is a converted 'cow milking shed' and can easily hold up to 75 visitors. Due to its position, separate from the house, there is a more 'real' pub ambience. The Outpost features a individual sandbag bar, built-in braai, pool table, dart board, M- Net tv and male and female toilet / wc. We offer things to do such as abseiling, mountain-biking with bike hireal, horse riding, archery, natural world walks and clay pigeon shooting, microlighting and paragliding amongst others.
